Space to pause, connect, and belong.
Gentle nature connection experiences in Garnant. Welcoming, inclusive, accessible — and there is nothing you need to be able to do.
There is little expectation here. This is not about achieving, performing, or pushing your body.
Our sessions are intentionally immersive — stepping you away from the noise of daily life and guiding you into a deep state of calm. Together we practise simple, soothing techniques you can take home and use whenever you need a moment of peace. Come as you are, with an open mind and a willing heart.
Slow down, step away from daily stress, and put your feet on the ground.
Notice the changing world around you, and let the noise fall away for two hours.
Leave a little more grounded, a little more rested, ready for everyday life.
Reconnect with your environment, with yourself, and with the people beside you.
What happens in a session
Never any expectation to achieve anything, no pressure to share, and no fitness requirements.
From a recent participant“What a timely reminder in an overwhelming world, to take notice of the beauty that surrounds us.
I have always found mindfulness practices quite difficult, but these Nature Connection Walks allowed me to finally understand it in a way that meant something to me.
Carla creates such a wonderfully warm and relaxed experience whilst also making you feel engaged and full of knowledge by the end!
Thanks to Carla, I have learnt the importance of truly noticing, and doing so with intention.
If you’re thinking about booking, don’t think twice!”

Hello,
I am Carla.
I am developing Root Rest Rise out of a lifelong passion for wellbeing and for nature, the knowledge that rediscovering our connection with the natural world has deep healing benefits, and my own profound experiences of recovery from serious illness.
Root Rest Rise brings together my academic background, sixteen years of clinical practice, and my own deeply personal health journey.
Clinical expertise
Degrees in both Psychology and Mental Health Nursing, and sixteen fulfilling years working as a qualified Mental Health Nurse.
Community & groups
Community wellbeing roles facilitating supportive groups and delivering accessible health education.
Lived experience
A first-hand understanding of severe illness and recovery. I know what it means to need a safe space to rebuild.
Alongside my professional background, I have navigated significant personal health challenges: managing MGRS myeloma through chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, enduring kidney failure and dialysis, and eventually receiving a kidney transplant.
During those intense periods, spending time in nature became my vital anchor. It was where I found calm, perspective and hope.
